Allenford

Allenford is a small village on Highway 21 halfway between Southampton and Owen Sound.  Allenford is situated on the bank of the Sauble River.  It was originally known as Driftwood Crossing, but to recognize the first settler, Allen, it was changed and ford was added to acknowledge the ease to which the river could be forded.
Allenford lies on the border of the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie and The Town of South Bruce Peninsula. In 2007 the Allenford Improvement Association was formed to work as a Liaison between the two municipalities for the betterment of the village. Every Canada Day weekend the village shows its spirit with a great weekend of activities including the annual rubber duck race and fireworks.
Allenford represents small town rural charm, set in a peaceful river valley with the beautiful Sauble River winding through the heart of the village.

Allenford is home to a number of thriving businesses including Barry's Construction, Aiken's Home Hardware, and Elmer's Flighting, to name only a few.
