Country Roads Take Me Home

Driving along this picturesque gravel road near Annan I couldn't help myself from bursting into song, feeling light, free, and just happy to be able to enjoy the beauty around me.  I was traveling to a listing that I have that boasts the beautiful view of Georgian Bay on three levels.  The home is stately and would be an amazing place to live.

Located near Annan & Leith this home may be a little off the beaten path, but it is a truly gorgeous place that is worth the drive.  One of Canada's most recognized painters, Tom Thomson grew up and lived in the area.  His oil canvases influenced the work of the "Group of Seven".  Thomson's grave is located at the Leith Cemetery at the Old Leith Church. There is also a boutique winery located nearby.  "Coffin Ridge" which produces high quality, small batch wine primarily from grapes that they hand plant and grow themselves.  This is a wonderful place to visit with friends and enjoy the stunning view.  With Owen Sound only 9 km away it is an easy drive to amenities, yet a it feels like you have left the city far behind. As the lyrics to John Denver's song say, "Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong..."
